Our engineers suggest that gland packing is replaced every time the pump is dismantled this ensures that the seal below the gland nut is always water tight. Easilly cut to length with scissors, and easy to manipulate into position. Once the nut is tightened the glandpacking is compressed to fill and gaps where water might otherwise escape.
